About the Program

The Indiana Autism Learn and Collaborate (IALC) Initiative: Building Administrators (e.g., principals, assistant principals, deans) is an exciting online program offered by the Indiana Resource Center for Autism (IRCA). This initiative is designed to affirm neurodiversity, empower educators, and foster a multidisciplinary support network among educators throughout Indiana. Running for eight weeks, with an optional 9th week, the program provides an opportunity to enhance your skills and knowledge of Autism and neuroaffirming learning environments in a supportive and collaborative setting while earning up to 90 professional growth points.

  4. Social/Relational Challenges

  5. Student Variability and Learning Environments

  6. Instructional Frameworks and Systems Supporting Inclusion

  7. Autism and Trauma

  8. Understanding Autism Research in Today’s Climate

  9. (Optional) Submission of Inclusive and Neuroaffirming School Action Plan

Time Commitment 

This 8-week program requires a commitment of approximately 10 hours per week. That includes:

  • 1-hour weekly online meetings
  • Watching foundational videos (between 1-2 hours per week)
  • Additional reading (between 1-3 hours per week)
  • Accessing and studying your school/district data (2-3 hours per week)
  • (Optional) Activities such as convening a teacher leadership team to advance inclusion

Winter 2026 Session Details

Our Winter IALC-Building Administrators session will run from the week of February 2through the week of April 3, 2026 (nomeeting or coursework fromMarch 15 – 21 for Spring Break). Optional week of April 6-10, 2026.

Additional Information

Professional Growth Points – Complete your license renewal with IALC-BA!

The hours you engage in the program are converted to professional growth points (80 PGPs) that you can use toward your Indiana Building Administrator license renewal.

Live Weekly MS Teams Meeting

Participants will attend and actively engage in a 60-minute live Microsoft Teams meeting each week, scheduled consistently on the same day and time throughout the program. These meetings are designed as peer-led discussions, not formal instructional sessions. Each small group of 4–5 participants will have dedicated speaking time to reflect on the weekly content, share insights, and offer mutual support in a collaborative learning environment.
